Cielo was born in Colombia, South America. She has been an active volunteer in the children’s ministries of Mission Hill and the church she attended in South Florida. Her great-uncle and aunt shared the Gospel with Cielo on a short trip to Colombia when she was a child. She came to have a relationship with Christ as an adult after her first child was born. Her most significant spiritual influence has been her great uncle and aunt, Robert & Olga Nyberg, whom she cared for their last year of life. They taught her and her family that there is nothing more important in the world than to share the love of Christ with others.
Cielo holds a master’s degree in education. Before moving to Tampa, Cielo worked for 25 years in various South Florida school districts. She oversaw Special Education programs, ESOL programs, and Parental Involvement programs at the district level throughout her career.
Cielo has served in children’s ministry, translation ministry, and prayer ministry. Currently, she is serving at Mission Hill Church as the interim children’s director.
Cielo and JP have been married for 18 years and have been blessed with two sons. JC, who currently serves in the worship team on our Lake Carroll Campus and Gio, who is presently part of Mission Hill’s kids’ ministry. Both boys have received Christ and walked through the waters of baptism.
Cielo has a passion for children that God has placed in her heart. Her continual prayer is that God uses Mission Hill Church to reach all the kids around the community for the Honor and Glory of our Lord and Savior.
